Derry City and Strabane are delighted to have joined the Sustainable Food Place network, and have been actively engaging with local stakeholders to form the Acorn Food Network. Through this network we hope to create a region where it is easy for everyone to access fresh, local, seasonal food–a region where there is no need to worry about how much your food has contributed to global warming, deforestation or greenhouse gas emissions. We want the food we eat to help sustain local food producers and help develop a varied, reliable local economy."
