Many meat and milk alternatives have been assessed from nutritional, environmental, and cost perspectives, but the analyses are rarely consistently combined, which limits the ability to identify cobenefits and trade-offs across domains. Our study advances each analysis and provides a comprehensive multicriteria assessment of meat and milk alternatives from nutritional, health, environmental, and cost perspectives.
Food From Somewhere- Building food security and resilience through territorial markets
Food From Somewhere provides a comprehensive overview of these diverse food webs. It documents their critical contributions to sustaining producer livelihoods, ensuring access to healthy food for the poorest populations, sustaining cultures and communities, and keeping people fed in the face of shocks. The report urges governments to reinvest in local and regional supply infrastructure, relocalise public purchasing and food security strategies, and curb corporate capture of food systems.

New economic analysis demonstrates that the current agricultural budget is significantly less than what is required, for the Northern Ireland agricultural sector to help tackle the nature and climate crisis. The new report finds that Northern Ireland needs to significantly increase investment in nature-friendly farming – up to £413m per year - to ensure nature targets and legally binding climate targets are met.
