This summer, from the 16th to the 21st of June, communities across the country will come together to celebrate the power of food, music, and storytelling to connect us, inspire us, and shape the cultures we share. Timed with the Summer Solstice, the Food, Music & Stories Festival 2025 will be a joyful, grassroots celebration of sustainability, creativity, and community wellbeing.

Entirely volunteer-led and supported by the National Lottery Community Fund, the festival brings together a rich programme of events designed to nourish body, mind and spirit. With themes centred on sustainable food, growing your own, climate action, healthy eating, and cultural heritage, the week will include a vibrant mix of workshops, storytelling sessions, walks, and communal meals.

Here's a taste of what’s happening across the week:

  • Herb Walk with Sheelagh – Begin the week with a mindful exploration of local plants and their healing properties at Shield’s House grounds (Monday 16th June).

  • Empowered Plate Workshop with Jade – Explore the connection between food and self-care in this hands-on, uplifting experience (Wednesday 18th June).

  • Long Table Supper Club & Food Stories with Rory & Sean – Share a meal and swap stories at Brink, where food and community go hand in hand (Wednesday 18th June).

  • Irish Folklore & Female Health with Francesca & Bronwyn – Discover traditional tales and women’s wisdom through the lens of Irish folklore (Thursday 20th June).

  • Summer Solstice solace – move, breath, connect with Michael and Lorna – A beautiful movement, breathwork and connection session on the beach at Helen’s Bay (Friday 20th June).

  • Salad Days with Portia – Join in at Carrick Greengrocers to learn about fresh, local produce and simple, delicious meals (Saturday 21st June).

  • Solstice Morning Family Fun with Nalina – A family-friendly celebration at Hydebank Community Gardens to mark the longest day of the year with joy and creativity (Saturday 21st June).

Many of these events will be hosted in partnership with existing organisations and festivals, creating a ripple effect of connection and collaboration across the country.

Thanks to the generous support of the National Lottery Community Fund, and the energy and dedication of our incredible volunteers, this festival is free and open to all. Whether you attend one event or many, you're invited to join us in celebrating the stories, meals, music, and moments that make our communities vibrant and resilient.

Come be part of the story. Come celebrate with us.
