NFFN NI: Farming for Resilience- Farming for Resilience (Cookstown)

• Are you worried about the rising costs associated with farming?
• Are you concerned that your outputs won’t meet demands if you cut back on your inputs?
• Did you know there is a ‘sweet spot’ where farming can be at its most profitable?

We call this spot Maximum Sustainable Output (MSO).

MSO  helps calculate the spot at which your farm is at its most profitable.  It considers the carrying capacity of your land based on your farm's  geography, the fixed and variable costs of running a farm, and the point  at which inputs maximise your outputs to farm more efficiently.

NFFN  NI have recently secured funding from DAERA’s Environment Fund to  calculate the MSO on farms throughout Northern Ireland and we are  looking for farmers to get involved in this project.

Who is Chris Clark?

Our  speaker, Chris Clark, is a Partner in Nethergill Associates, a business  management consultancy currently assisting farm businesses within the  UK. He is co-author of The Less is More report, which originally  involved analyses of 43 farms and has since been expanded upon. To date,  Chris has worked with over 150 farms, with 50 more contracted in 2023.
