Time & Location

CAFRE Hill Farm, Glenhead Rd Glenwherry Ballymena BT42 4RF
About the event
- Are you worried about the rising costs associated with farming?
- Are you concerned that your outputs won’t meet demands if you cut back on your inputs?
- Did you know there is a ‘sweet spot’ where farming can be at its most profitable?
We call this spot Maximum Sustainable Output (MSO).
MSO helps calculate the spot at which your farm is at its most profitable. It considers the carrying capacity of your land based on your farm's geography, the fixed and variable costs of running a farm, and the point at which inputs maximise your outputs to farm more efficiently.
NFFN NI have recently secured funding from DAERA’s Environment Fund to calculate the MSO on farms throughout Northern Ireland and we are looking for farmers to get involved in this project.
Join us 1pm to 3pm on Wednesday, 26 October if you want to:
- Learn more about farming more profitably from Chris Clark of Nethergill Associates
- Hear how MSO has benefitted a local farmer here in Northern Ireland
- Hear how you could get a free MSO survey for your farm(normally costing up to £7,000)
- Network with other local farmers
- Meet members of the NFFN NI team
- Receive a copy of our 'What is MSO?' booklet and the 'Nature Means Business' report by NFFN
We have many knowledge transfer events planned throughout 2022/23 for farmers looking to become more resilient, increase their profits and reduce their costs. These events are run exclusively in Northern Ireland. Sign up as a member and follow us on social media for updates on our events schedule.
